Family Summer Session - Durant, Oklahoma
I've been meaning to post this forever but this summer has been a total blur. I can't believe it's August 1st. My oldest starts school in two weeks!! I have to buy clothes, supplies, a Spiderman backpack, lunchbox and water bottle! EEK! Back to this post. Earlier in the summer our best friends came to stay for a visit on their way to see family in Florida. You guys, they drove from Sacramento, CA to Northern Florida with their 1 year old twin girls and 6 year old son! I don't know how they did it but I'm so glad they did. Adam and Amanda have been our best friends since 2009 when we all met at our first Air Station in Elizabeth City, NC. Amanda and I were both pregnant at the same time and had our boys within 2 weeks of each other. Coincidentally our boys are also best friends. It's been tough not being near them the past few years so it was unbelievable that we got to see them this summer. So while they were in, it was pretty well understood that I would be taking their family portraits. Amanda and I went shopping in downtown Durant where she found this killer outfit at Bliss Boutique and then we started hunting locations to shoot. Since moving I have a handful of places I know of for sessions so I was crazy exited when we happened upon this spot. There was a cute winding path, trees, perfect light, and a tree covered in pink blooms!! You should've seen my face. It probably looked something like the heart eyes emoji. 😍 😍 😍 I've been so blessed by this family. We've managed to stay close even though we're 1700 miles apart. Thank you technology!! I'm so thankful for any time we get together. It's like no time has passed. When you spend 6 years away from your actual family, your friends become your family. You share every holiday, birthday, and Friday pizza night with each other. We have so many amazing memories! I swear, one of the best blessings we received from our time in the Coast Guard was meeting Adam and Amanda. Okay, enough of this because I'm about to make myself cry! LoL I hope you enjoy these photos of my gorgeous friends and their sweet littles.
