I recently shot a styled shoot, my very first, to promote a new wedding venue here in Durant. Entourage Ministries purchased and renovated an old church to use for the ministry and serve women in the area. They do a multitude of outreach ministries that help and encourage women. Among them being the boutique where ladies can come and choose clothes at no cost, free hair days once a month, and Entourage which is every 2nd Tuesday of the month where they gather for praise and worship as well as fellowship. That's really just skimming the surface of what Entourage Ministries does. I've been extremely blessed to call the ladies behind the ministry my friends so I was elated when they asked me to come on board as an event scheduler for the chapel to help fund all the varying aspects of what they do.
You won't believe the before and after shots I've included at the end of the post! They got rid of the carpet and ceiling panels to reveal gorgeous original wood floors and wood beams. The beams are part of the reason for the name, Ark Chapel, as they make people think of what the ark must have looked like from inside. It's truly a beautiful and sacred space.
I wanted to show off that beauty by photographing a couple all decked out in wedding attire. I've never been to or hosted a styled shoot so this was new territory for me, however I had a blast and love the images we got. The lovely couples I worked with are the main reason for the outcome and the fact that we all had such a fun time while shooting.
